C and K cares. It’s that simple. We care about our community, people in need, and animals in need. We believe it’s just the right way to be and the American way of life. As we look around for ways to help others, we’ve found some opportunities:
From 2016 – to present — Vice President Beth Gentry serves as a member of the Huntsville Area Crimestoppers Board of Directors. Financial donations.
March 18, 2017 – performed free roof repair at Kids to Love’s Davidson Farms.
December 20, 2017 – Nexus Energy Center / Navy veteran – Owner Jim Gentry, retired USAF, examined another retired veteran’s chimney and determined faulty work. Our crew re-worked the chimney to stop the leaks and painted the chimney. Free of charge.
August 20, 2018 – A New Leash on Life – Board members reached out for help to repair the leaky roof of a large dog house. We re-roofed it and then did extensive interior repairs to the drywall on the walls and ceiling. Free of charge.
November 2, 2018 – Vice President Beth Gentry delivered a case of Geocel (elastomeric) caulking to CASA to be used in winterizing homes for elderly residents. Free of charge.
November 19, 2018 – C and K collaborated with Hope Church Ministries to install a new roof for a Madison County woman who had been turned down by other charitable organizations. Free of charge.
February 17, 2019 – C and K re-roofed Nexus Energy Center’s “Tiny Home”, changing out a metal roof with a GAF shingled roof. We reattached solar panels for energy efficiency and saved the metal to be recycled.
November 15, 2020 – C and K Roofing adopted the American Legion Building on Drake Avenue in Huntsville. Our company spent the day sealing their leaky metal roof, then returned to install a new roof over their building entrance and HVAC. The company will continue making repairs to the building as needed moving forward — FREE of charge for the vets!
April 13, 2021 – C and K Roofing answered a call for help from the Monrovia Volunteer Fire Department. Someone ran into the side of their metal building and fled. The impact dented and cracked the metal, leaving the VFD exposed. They taped it up. C and K’s siding team gathered the materials and repaired the damage, leaving the building looking brand new again. Labor and materials were valued at $1200 — FREE of charge for First Responders to say, “Thanks for taking care of us all! We’re happy to take care of YOU!”
November 11, 2021 – C and K Roofing took on a repair project at VFW POST 2702 (Gentry Isom) at Sparkman Drive and Memorial Parkway. The building had extensive damage from a leak into the foyer. Once into the repair, our crews had to tear out the deteriorated wall and ceiling, reframe it, remove and reinstall siding, install new wall material, paint, removed and replaced molded filthy carpeting. Value of all labor and materials = $6500 ; cost to Post 2702 = FREE! We were happy to make the repairs on Veterans Day and the following week to finish in time for a Car Show and fundraising event.
September 27, 2023 – C and K Roofing learned of a Vietnam veteran who was battling brain cancer and needed easier access in and out of his home. So, FREE of charge, our framing team showed up at his townhouse in Owens Roads to build two ramps for Rob Dinges. Then, we learned his elderly relatives, who live two doors down from him —and also have an extensive record of members serving our country in various branches of the military— also needed easier access to their home. So, we doubled our order of materials and built them two ramps also. Then, the elderly neighbor who lives in between them also shared she felt like she had tripping hazards and would be willing to pay us to build her two ramps. So, C and K Roofing did the right thing and built them for her, FREE of charge. C and K CARES about veterans and the elderly. They’ve served their time and it’s only right to serve them when we can!
November 11, 2023 – In correlation with Veterans Day 2023, C and K Roofing lead the construction of an Outdoor Oasis for vets at the American Legion Post 237. C and K crews demolished and hauled off existing concrete, dug footers, framed up an open air outdoor covered patio, then finished up with a GAF Architectural Roof. C and K worked with Alabama Concrete, Lowe’s of Madison, and Wilson Lumber to put it together. Value = $25,000
